...Ninty have well and truly killed that market. They have locked themselves into a cycle of new console, core games rehashed, run out of core games, no 3rd party support so no 3rd party games, game sales plummet as everyone owns the core ip, console declines.
But as long as they make storming profits in the 2-3 years after release, it doesn't really matter.
