Dragon Quest VIII (on the PS2) is pretty brilliant. Nate Send a noteboard - 16/04/2011 05:39:15 PM
It's one of my favourite PS2 games. Fantastic world, great classic Dragon Quest gameplay in beautiful cel-shaded 3D, good characters, interesting (though not spectacular) plot that goes on forever and keeps pulling you along with it, and of course an obscene amount of glorious grinding.

IV, V, and VI are all available (or maybe soon to be available in VI's case) on the DS as well. I've played IV, and it was good but nothing too special, but I've heard V and VI referred to very favourably by fans of the series.

VII (on the original Playstation) pretty much never ends, and is even grindier than most Dragon Quest games. But it's still Dragon Quest.

You'd probably like the IV - VI remakes, but most of my experience was in the "Warrior" days, too. - 16/04/2011 03:45:33 PM 451 Views
