I don't own any cards, I couldn't build a deck if I wanted to, and no, I don't want to.
Except I do kinda want to.
A friend in my building was playing with some folks. I dropped by and he asked me if I'd like to learn. I laughed and said that it wasn't my flavor of geek, but grabbed a deck of his and played a game.
And then another game.
And then another one.
Crap, I don't have the time OR the money for this...
I sympathise. It is terribly addictive. But it is one of those addictive things that don't cause cancer, so yay?
I own no cards either, but thankfully my boyfriend was a fully fledged geek before I met him, and I haven't tried to change that.
