True, some have the elite portrait, but that rarely means anything besides a little more health, and maybe a knockback ability. Elites used to be things that killed you dead. Everyone used to be envious of the classes that could successfully kite the things around, as that was the only way to kill them without grouping.

Now? I killed the Redridge shark when he swam up to me from behind. I wasn't prepared, didn't plan to fight him, killed him handily with no kiting or tricks. The only TRUE elite I found was that one in the plaguelands. Though I have seen one or two others in some higher level zones that I haven't messed with, so maybe there are still a few top-notch mobs out there. I hope so. :)
