If a player wants to do something, let them do it. Let them try, at the very least, even if it's not what you want to have occur, or it's unrealistic. If it's something really crazy, complicated, or doesn't fit very well into the rules? Make it work. A player who is allowed to attempt crazy stunts with three checks in them, and knows that their DM will support any decision that they have their character make, is a happy player.
