You can tell that Blizzard is trying to make the game easier for casual players. They're removing some of the complexities that required gamers to actually go aside on their own and do formulas just to be able to min/max their character as they felt was needed for the "hardcore end-gaming" (it's not, btw). They're making it easier to get gear and to be able to actually achieve end-game raids and instances.
A lot of wow-players, mostly the hardcore raiders, get positively FURIOUS about this...but the rest of us who can only play for a few hours on the weekend are saying "thank you very much"
