Particularly in games where you do have quests that sometimes have very long chains.
I actually found that some of the DA journal entries were unhelpful. Yes thank you I remember what I'm supposed to do but I can't remember where the guy said to go. Luckily they do save the dialogue for you to go look back through. Maybe that's why they did journal entries the way they did, but I still was kind of annoyed at the time I had to spend looking through dialogue.
