I want some examples of little recognized features that aren't exactly selling points in ads and box art, but you're still grateful to see in a game. That means no "x number playable characters", no "massive worlds to explore" or "x hours of gameplay".
I'm talking things like:
1) When I play Modern Warfare 2, I don't have to sit through four thirty second company logo animations for each group responsible for putting out the game. As soon as it loads, I hit A-button 3 quick strikes and ~boom~, I'm playing the game. And when it comes to opening title cards and menus, A-button is as good as Start. I don't care if it says "Press Start", I should always also be able to press "A".
2) Every time I load a save in Dragon Age, it reminds you where you are in the story by telling you what is going on and what you were likely in the process of doing. I've lost interest in revisiting saves in other games before, because when I pick up where I last left off I have no clue what the Hell I was working on or where I should be heading next.
Any other examples?
