You paid too much, it arrived broken, and it took THREE MONTHS for the company to take care of everything? And you're still recommending that approach? I have to say that I'm far from convinced.
Truth is, people vastly overestimate the difficulty of putting together a computer. There are eight or nine components that simply plug into each other, and each one only fits in one slot. The motherboard comes with a manual that tells you where to put everything, and it's probably less confusing than what Ikea puts in their furniture boxes. If you really can't get it, just ask a friend who knows a bit about computers. If you don't have one of those, look in your phone book for a local computer shop, drive your boxes down there, and they'll have you up and running in twenty minutes, tops, for a fee that'll probably be less than what IBP charges.
