Actions should definitely have consequences beetnemesis Send a noteboard - 09/08/2010 05:38:13 AM
Don't instakill them, but if they doublecross a high-level wizard, there'd better be some consequences.

How high level? Can he Geas them into making them go find the MacGuffin they banished to another Plane?

Why didn't the wizard get this thing himself? Is the party tougher than him?

Hm... how about this: the party has to go to some shaman, wise woman, temple, hut, SOMETHING to do whatever they're going to do. While they're meeting the head honcho of the place, make them make spot checks to see the scrying sensor. If they don't see it, have the head honcho sense it (reactions include the honcho being all secretive and whispering "We are being WATCHED" or just waving to the sensor)

Then... it depends. If the players want to destroy it, maybe they have to get to the nearest ley-line nexus, which is a week's hike away. Meanwhile, they're being assaulted each night by the wizard's minions/summons, because he's too frail to face them in open combat unless it's neccessary.
I amuse myself.

Well, it depends on the Wizard and the situation, I should think. - 12/08/2010 07:24:11 AM 476 Views
