I work at a giant electronic retailer and I personally sell computers, laptops, video cards etc. Two things prompted me to want to make a "list" saying what type of graphic card you should get for required/recommended settings(but I am not doing an optimum). I am taking the official required/recommended settings and then updating them a little bit with the newer generation cards (so a 7000 series geforce is about the same speed as this 200 or 400 series geforce). (I am using Toms Hardware VGA charts and Anandtech CPU bench for the CPU part)

1) I work on commission. Graphic Cards sadly do not pay well and are a time sink (you lose money helping these people via lost time). Furthermore I am one of only two people in the computer department that knows anything about video cards, thus all video card questions are reffed to me. I will gladly help people but I am looking on ways to reduce the time sink aspect.
2) One of my coworkers sold a person a laptop to play final fantasy XIV. The laptop possessed a geforce 310 mobility, a video card that is slower than many integrated cards and is only put into a laptop because an i7 mobility processor doesn't have integrated graphics. Final Fantasy XIV on the other hand (even though it isn't released) is an extremely demanding game. On the FF XIV website they were recommending a GTX 460 and an i7 desktop processor (a processor that is clocked 60% faster) and a graphic card 4 times faster than the geforce 310 mobility just to play the game .

1) Do you have any games that you recommended on the list? I am trying to do new games not old ones with the list and doing various genres. I purposefully didn't include the Sims/Spore for any new dedicated video card can play them
2) I can't find some of the specs I am looking for, if anybody can find official specs for these games I would appreciate it.
