The split of SC2 into three parts was clearly not because the campaign was "so long". There are 29* missions total, of which you are only able to play 27* in one campaign. Total play time on Normal, is 8-10 hours. Seriously, 8-10 hours gameplay time is "so long" that it has to be broken up into three parts? Oh, and each part is separated by a minimum of 18 months.
