I just meant that the actual numbers aren't important. The dollars coming in obviously are.

It sounded like you were wondering how the sales would be calculated, which isn't a big deal. The game companies will do what they need to do with prices and licensing to continue to make money. I don't know much about the law, but if OnLive diminishes their sales, I imagine they'll just work out some sort of terms of service / activation rule that prevents their games being used in a commercial setting. Then they just work out licensing with OnLive at whatever price they need to in order to make money.
Anyway, my point was just that I don't think OnLive will make it any more difficult for game companies to make money. Whether they sell individual licenses to users, or expensive corporate licenses to streaming services, it's just a matter of crunching the numbers. So long as people want to play their games, they'll still bring in cash.

Continuing my personal publicity campaign, I remind you all that OnLive launches tomorrow.

Not yet interested, but watching. I'm curious about how game ownership will work. (or not) *NM*

In the worst case, you buy for full price and pay 14.95 to play.

I can see that long-term, but the overlap of games I already own would be a huge rip-off.

Well no, I wouldn't re-buy a game. I almost never play old games, though.

Sales matter when good, under-publicized games don't sell millions, which means no sequels.

What's the price that you pay for a new game?

To be fair, I said that was the worst case. We don't really know the pricing model yet.

True, though I'm assuming we do now (it launched a couple days ago, right? )

Me too. When I posted this, I didn't realize it was a phased rollout or whatever.
