It's more market saturation of people who want a casual toy, and a realisation by developers that there is actually no sales to be had unless you are ninty.
As for Kinetic...over £100 for a glorified eyetoy? I doubt anyone will buy an xbox for this, or a PS3 for the lollipop. More likely people who never bought a wii and own one of these systems already might partake.
