And it's not even, technically, a Lets Play: It's a PC Gamer blogger blogging his game of Galacitc Civilizations II. It blends humor, making fun of the game, explaining the game, and a weird sort of metanarrative where he's IN the game, but also talking ABOUT it (like when he refuses to ever parlay with an enemy).

So, basically, my favorite Let's Plays have the following characteristics: They're screenshot-based, they're humorous, they point out cool or interesting aspects of the game.

So, for instance, I once read a really good one of KOTOR 2, which explained all of the missing content, took us through the game, was sometimes freaking hilarious, and just really, in general, good.


Boatmurdered's another fun one... though I refuse to describe it any more than "It's a round-robin game of Dwarf Fortress that quickly devolves into insanity."
