Re: It's not a hoax....there's almost no doubt that it isn't a hoax - Edit 1

The phone is filled with Apple components and is recognized as an iPhone by iTunes. The phone was reportedly working when it was found, but was later bricked, which could be done with MobileMe very easily.

It was also confirmed to be real to Engadget by the same person who leaked pictures of the iPad the day before its release.

I suspect it's very real. It may not be the final design, because Apple is well known for having multiple pieces of hardware and software running around at the same time to make sure nobody knows exactly what they're going to do, but there is little doubt that this isn't something made and designed by Apple. The only real question is if this is what is going to be released as the next iPhone or not. My money is on yes.

Really? Personally, I hope you're right about the multiple design thing because for me this is a rare Apple miss. I'm still going to treat this with caution but I'd be a little bit disappointed if this is what the final thing looks like. Is that just me?

As for a working test or prototype this close to release??? The phone isn't even going to be announced until June 28th or 29th. This is the exact time when units would be in the field to verify that everything is working as planned before production begins in earnest.

I'm a little bit confused by what you're trying to say here. Are you saying that it would be a working prototype? Because that's what I said too! :P

Heh, I must have misread what you were saying on that one. My bad! :P
