Siena in Italy is nice, and very close to Florence. You should do both.

Go to Slovenia. If you're doing a world tour you should visit one of the Balkan states & Ljubljana is great.



I second Siena. Pisa, on the other hand, is a tourist trap and rather lame. Florence was way too touristy for my taste, but if one books ahead and avoids queueing for hours, the Uffizi is amazing.
