I'm a health economist, working at a Dutch university. My main topic is HTA (health technology assessment): a new technique is better, but costs more. Is it worth it? Those kind of questions. Doing contract research for (mostly) pharmaceutical companies. Also some teaching and in the mean time, when I have enough papers published, I'll staple them together and get my PhD. The topic will be "transferability", which is roughly about "what do outcomes in another country tell me?" Latest ETA is Feb 2012, but a possible 4-6 month stint in Suriname is not conducive for the speed of promotion.
In the evenings I'm helping out with Toastmasters, an organization that teaches it's members communication and leadership skills. I'm also a member of the board to a local political party, and I'll probably join the local cultural council soon, which advices the local political leadership on all things cultural.
Oh, and I'm an avid wine drinker, doing courses in wine, going to tastings, etc. The only professional side to that story is that I have more courses under my belt than the average sommelier (and still don't use them), and that I bring a large portion of my salary to importers.

The mystery deepens... I think. *MySmiley*
