but I also don't know how much exercise he WAS doing, nor his exact cholesterol levels. It would, however, be a reason a doctor might tell him to cut back. And even if you weren't worried about plaques, cholesterol will alter the elasticity of your vessels enough that strenuous exercise could be a serious strain on your CV system.
