It is basically taught like US history but only covers what happened in Texas. My post was mostly meant as a joke.

As far the particulars of the Barbary Pirates War and any treaties signed there I doubt even college US history classes go much beyond the fact there was one and the fact that the event was the first time the US flag was raised in the Old World. I don't believe the entire incident took up more then a paragraph or two in our text.

Besides you are missing that there is a difference between being founded on a religion and being founded on religious principles.
