It's probably a moot point anyway, since it turns out he knows next to nothing about science fiction, and I'm really only curious about indie dance music because he's interested in it. And worse, it must have been painfully obvious how socially clueless I am. But man, it was nice to really talk to someone again IRL. The hermit thing comes so naturally to me that I forgot what I was missing. Except that now I'm back in my hermity shell with all my neurons exploding and unable to sleep just because a cute guy who enjoys the BBC and psychology suddenly invited me for coffee. The bastard. So tell me, WTF is coffee?

Oh, and the music thing? Well, you sometimes have to make an effort to learn more about a person's likes and dislikes; you don't want to date someone or even be friends with someone exactly like yourself do you? You never know, you might gain an appreciation for it if you learn more about it?
Edit: Wait a minute, you're a guy (just looked at your profile)? Well, that may make things slightly different, but not all that different. What I said about asking him about his likes is still the same. The other part is mostly the same too, he either IS interested in the man with man way or is at least interested in being friends.
