Your argument is entirely based on the fact that you feel going to public school is "no big deal." To these parents, it IS a "big deal." Given that it's a morality thing, I don't really think it's your place to decide that they should suck it up. "IF" the parents agreed with you that it was "no big deal" and were just using the Asylum process to speed their immigration, then I'd agree with you: booooo parents. It doesn't sound like that's the case though. It sounds like the parents genuinely care about their kids, and feel that a year in the public school system would be very detrimental to them.
