That's perfectly acceptable. In fact, it's almost better- when your employer doesn't think you're getting tips, you're likely to actually be paid more than pocket change.
When I used to live in Thailand, no one tipped, ever- It's not an East Asian thing, and the majority of the tourists came from non-tipping countries, so it just wasn't a thing. Yet those who worked in the service/tourist industries tending to be, if definitely not "upper class," at least make enough to make a comfortable living.
