NOTHING stops me from going out and buying halal meat (or Kosher meat), even though I am not islamic.
It is the choice of the customer to buy or not buy their particular food. And as the article mentions, this is only in select stores and their entire menu is not halal.
On this note, I'm going to mention something related, if in terms of "Kosher" foods. Did you know that MOST of your grocery store products are certified Kosher? Just look, you'll find one of the kosher symbols on most packaged goods in your average grocery store (at least here in the states). Does this make the producers or the grocery store discrimitory? After all, they don't have everything HALAL approved, or VEGAN approved.
No. Since when is tailoring a product for a specific group discrimination? They sell shoes just for people with bunions. They sell vegan peanut butter. They sell Kosher beef. There are whole stores devoted to plus sizes. Yah, I suppose that is literally discriminatory, since you're offering a specific product that others may not want and you've tailored to a specific standard...
But unless they are refusing to sell these products to people, they are far from doing anything legally or ethically discriminatory.
