1. Do you observe Lent?
Sort of.
2. Why (not)?
I've been... much less Catholic lately. I still can't decide how I feel about this, but I have become more of a personally spiritual person than a follower of organized religion. If/when I decide to give something up, it's usually more because of me and that it's something I need to do. I'm willing to do it to show that spirituality, but not necessarily because I'm supposed to.
3. What does your observance of Lent typically entail? Giving things up, taking things on, or something else?
Usually some sort of giving things up.
4. What's the hardest thing you've ever given up/taken on/something else?
Chocolate. That was stupid.
5. What, if anything, are you planning to do for observing Lent this year?
I plan to make myself adhere to the South Beach Diet again. I should be able to do it, but man, I'm feeling angry right now.
6. Do you observe Sundays as feast days (and as such, exempt from fasting/abstinence), considering that the 40 days between Ash Wednesday and Holy Saturday don't include Sundays?
I always did skip Sundays when I was younger, but that was because I didn't really understand everything. Now I think I might use them for leeway, because it's very hard to go out with friends while on a diet (and still have some semblance of fun/not make them feel awkward that I can't have drinks or most of the food they would eat).
Six is a good number. I'll stop here.
Nice survey

I'm actually looking forward to it. I'm quite good at not doing something if I have a reason.

That's still on the books for Episcopalians, if I recall correctly, but as an option.

Perhaps it is. But, less so than lint, I'm thinking.

And there's another huge difference between abstinence and self-denial.
