1. Do you observe Lent?
Yes, I typically observe Lentils. Shortly before consuming them.
2. Why (not)?
They are delicious. And good with butternut squash.
3. What does your observance of Lent typically entail? Giving things up, taking things on, or something else?
I typically cook them with vegetable stock if I have it, and with various herbs and spices as strikes my fancy. I think like to add butternut squash or sweet potatoes, as I think they mesh nicely together. I will serve them with a sprinkle of bacon bits.
4. What's the hardest thing you've ever given up/taken on/something else?
I'm never going to give you up, let you down, run around or desert you!!!
5. What, if anything, are you planning to do for observing Lent this year?
While I observe my lentils, I will probably salivate slightly and begin to have belly grumbles. Luckily this will be a short lived torture, as soon I will be observing an empty bowl.
6. Do you observe Sundays as feast days (and as such, exempt from fasting/abstinence), considering that the 40 days between Ash Wednesday and Holy Saturday don't include Sundays?
I typically feast on Saturdays, given that it has the best balance of time and desire to cook. I sometimes feast on Sundays if I actually have a life on a Saturday night.
Six is a good number. I'll stop here.
I don't mean to be disrespectful to those who observe Lent, btw. I'm just bored and overly amused with my cleverness (or lack thereof )

I'm actually looking forward to it. I'm quite good at not doing something if I have a reason.
