did people stop telling you how wonderful you were and what great potential you had and stop caring if you weren't living up to it?
I just noticed it myself.
People used to tell me how wonderful I was all the time and then I guess I was about 25 or so when it stopped. I started getting all frantic about not getting enough attention and stuff. I'm sure some of you remember.
Anyway... it just struck me what might have brought on the change and I was wondering if anyone else experienced the same sort of thing...
People start expecting more from you as you get older and are less willing to accept excuses. Of course when I was growing up people did spend the same amount of time kids they were they were amazing and they spent almost no time applauding our failures.
So when exactly:
July the 22nd 1985 at MCRD San Diego
Did that happen to you?
I got married and stated a family fairly early so I was expected to grow up fast. I don't recall a particular incident were I finally noticed it all changed.
Did you lose your virginity?
no I gave it away
Did you fall in love?
more then once
Did you break someone's heart?
don't we all
Did you realize how much you didn't know?
happens all the times
Did you realize you had to start over?
you never get to start over you can only change course
Did you lose your way?
don't we all
Did you abandon your past?
nope
Did you stop looking forward and start looking back?
try not to
Did you lose your first love?
yep
Did you give up?
I have to many people depending on me to have the option of giving up.
When exactly...

I only remember being told that a few times, when I was in my late teens.
