All I know is I've seen mostly green lights, sometimes red and sometimes a blueishpurpleish.
And they dance! I swear to you, they dance.

The first time I ever saw them was when I lived in ND. I was walking with a friend who also had never seen them before because like me was from a more southern state. And because we both had the same religious background...

We saw lights in the sky...moving lights...dancing lights...
"I'm a little freaked out right now"
"Is this Armageddon?"
"Either that or it's the Northern Lights"
"I hope to hell it's the Northern Lights"
"Me too!"

We rush into my folks house. "Ya'll have to come see this and tell us it's the Northern Lights"

It made for a good laugh for the family, let me tell you.

It is no wonder that ancient people were mesmerized by them.
They are beautiful and mysterious and can cause of fright.
