You can still propose amendments on a bill for reconciliation, the GOP has said it plans to 'unleash an endless stream of amendments designed to stall for time and to force Dems to take untenable votes.' and “If you bring a reconciliation bill to the Senate, it’s a free for all of amendments,” the GOP aide said, cautioning that this was only part of the overall strategy. “There is no way to limit the number of amendments that are voted on. You can’t close debate. Democrats will have to vote on every politically perilous amendment that you can possibly think of.”
So, apparently they'll just throw every amendment on the table from making fruit loops the national cereal to deporting ACORN members to making it illegal to wear a sports cap in the wrong place. Currently this is politically possible, since blatant stalling will probably meet public approval as opposed to normal. PErsonally I think an amendment calling for a 100-ft tall satue of count dracula next to the IRS headquarters would be a good choice, or maybe calling for funding of 600 billion sheets of paper necessary to print a copy of the bill for every last citizen. I'd bet the more absurd they go, the more the public will approve, and they probably could do it all the way till the election.
Anyway, that appears to be the game plan if reconciliation is tried, and the house has basically said they won't even consider passing the senate bill unaltered.

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.

I'm sick of him too, but worried about what Congressional Democrats might do.

I don't regret voting Obama. McCain would have alienated the US even more.
