Biden kept fidgeting too, took me a little while to realize he was reacting too soon to comments because he was reading the teleprompter, I only caught that because he, pelosi, and obama kept looking at the same spot. MAde for an interesting distraction during the more boring parts of the speech, watching Biden smile and nod, smile and nod.
Awful lot of thinly vieled attacks on the GOP even while aiming for bipartisanship. A few attacks on Bush too, very old hat. About the only thing he mentioned I think will actually make it into law it the small business cap gains cut, and maybe if he has that wrapped with something else not too bad that might go through. The spending freeze, effecting only a tiny fraction of the budget, is pretty BS since he's planning to use TARP money for that purpose.
I thought his comment to SCOTUS was outrageous, it's fine to criticize them, even openly, but not as a captive audience where tradition combined with Wilson's comments from last year make it impossible for them to defend themselves. Then people jump on alito for shaking his head and muttering 'not true'. He basically did the same thing to the Joint Chiefs. SOTU gives you a captive audience, they can't reply, so it seems pretty f'd up to attack them so blatantly like he did to SCOTUS. Very classy.
Frankly, he came off spiteful and arrogant, and I don't think it's just my party bias there. The response was good though, fairly upbeat and empty, but I suspect using statehouses will be more the norm after this.

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.

I'm sick of him too, but worried about what Congressional Democrats might do.

LOL! I would like to see a bill proposing a 100-ft. tall statue of Dracula next to the IRS.

I don't regret voting Obama. McCain would have alienated the US even more.

I think the problem is that Obama doesn't really have a lot of his own plans.
