I don't need your sadness dude...or your pity. Jeordam Send a noteboard - 27/01/2010 10:19:43 PM
Everything you believe about any supernatural beings and about morality is based on your own interpretation of some book. That's not "open" to new ideas.

And I'm not laughing at you. I feel bad for you. Especially since I think, from many things you've written, that you're a closeted gay or bisexual man who finds his religious beliefs completely at odds with his basic self. But, even if you are completely heterosexual, I still feel bad for you. Thoughts, ideas, and beliefs completely limited by what some old, discredited fables tell you. Very sad indeed.

And actually...not not "my own interpretation" of the book. And I'm open to plenty of new ideas...I'm certainly open to learning about the ideas. That doesn't mean that I will, by any means, incorporate those ideas into my own belief structure. I'm not stupid.

I actually didn't read that as you laughing at me. Honestly I didn't. But as I said...I don't need, or even care for, you sadness or (even on some level?) pity. Its actually mildly insulting, even though I know you don't present it in an insulting manner. Contemplate how you would feel if I related how I see you lifestyle as being sad and you have my pity. At best, it would wash right off your back and wouldn't bother you in the least...at worst, it would anger you.

As per you thinking I'm closeted gay/bi individual who has a life at odds with his spiritual beliefs...close, not not quite. Its not my own sexuality that is in question, but instead that of a very good friend of mine. We've been friends for years, and I often find it hard to...balance?...all of this. Actually, I war with it quite often, and am often...aruging with God? (Its tough to articulate this).

But again...I am always eager to learn, but I do not incorporate things (new thoughts, concepts, ideals) which do not jive with my beliefs. Flip it around....why cannot you incorporate into your belief system that there is a God, and He does love you and desire a relationship with you? Why is this concept so difficult for you to grab ahold of?
