And because I'm so sick of Peyton Manning; he's the "greatest" one Ring QB since Namath.
I think that's mainly because people want current players to be regarded as "the best".
Like in cricket, a lot of people think Sachin Tendulkar (average of 55.00 - 16th best of all time) is the best batsman of all time, even better than Don Bradman (average of 99.94 - nearly 40 runs better than the second best average).
Now I feel bad; I don't even follow baseball, let alone cricket (sorry. ) Peyton IS scary good, but his offensive line is also one of the best ever, and I think people forget that gives him a lot of opportunities people like Warren Moon and Dan Marino never got. My biggest issue with the Colts, however, is that their D, particularly their run D (finished 31st out of 32) is awful, it's just that they get away with it 'cos their offense is that good. That's fine, but the Vikings and Saints both have very good teams at all positions, and I'd much rather see either of them win it all than have to spend another year watching Manning tell me about his "laser, rocket arm" every time Heroes goes to commercial.

Because of the chessgame; you put in defensive personnel based on who's in the huddle.

I really though Minnesota had the better team, but with all those fumbles it's hard to say that now.

Well, the better team doesn't always win (Just ask the 2007-08 Patriots )
