And no, I am not being snide or mean-spirited. I am being serious. I like to think that Muhammad would have advised Muslims to be wise and complete their prayers at an appropriate time when possible if hindered rather than causing a disturbance by trying to force them when not possible. That is just my opinion, the books I am reading for my class on Islam present Muhammad as a very devout man but also a flexible man who tried to avoid conflict.
i wont lie, i dont even remember the last time i said my morning prayers but I know that when you are traveling you can delay and shorten your prayers and but thats just my religion, im not sure the same goes for jews. so if the orthodox guy feels he HAS to say his prayer at the time he was sitting on the plane he should be able to. If regular people dont understand world religions at least the flight crews on all planes should be advised of all the different religions and rituals they might run into so they can reassure the other passengers if need be. The guy got his boxes through security so that should be assurance enough to peopel that they are harmless.

Sorry, I don't consider praying on a plane acting foolishly or inappropriately.

His being Jewish has nothing to do with it. Use some common sense - pray silently.

Fair enough, I can agree that they could have done that and should have done that.

Islam does explicitly make allowances for people who are traveling, though.
