Favre got his ass kicking in '97; I just wish I had it on tape. Joel Send a noteboard - 18/01/2010 04:38:54 AM
New Orleans is dues a title and Farve is due an ass kicking. The last score isn't what made the Cowboys look bad. The 6 sacks and 3 turnovers did that. All the trash points at the end really stung but the 3 on the scoreboard was the real problem.

For all everyone seems to want him to hurry up and retire so they can send him to Canton on the first ballot, his playoff record isn't great. Two NFC Championships and one Super Bowl in his entire career. Granted, Namath got in with less, but I don't think many others will, and Favre didn't prove the AFC wasn't completely worthless (actually, Elway did, and used Favre to do it. )

Minnesota is every bit as due a title as New Orleans. Which is worse: Being a perennial cellar dweller, or coming up JUST short time and again? Hint: Guess how many more times Vikings fans have had high hopes dashed than Saints fans have. Their fans went into almost every season expecting nothing; it was a shocking surprise when they did well a couple years ago, and again this year, but the Vikings... four Super Bowl losses (to some phenomenal teams; those Vikings teams may be the best Super Bowl LOSERS ever) the 15-1 team that got a bye, then was one and done. Warren Moon and Andre Ware, the pro and college poster children for Coming Up Short.

And that's just off the top of my head. They were showing tapes of the first Hail Mary on todays game; how many clips like that do Saints fans have running through their heads at night...?

But most importantly: I'm marrying a Viking, not a Saint (all requests for elaboration on that will be duly ignored. ;))
