Players don't vote for the HoF, only baseball writers do.
I'm more surprised that Mattingly is still eligible while Keith Hernandez is not.
andre dawson definitely deserves the hall vote, imho. i'm having trouble understanding why larkin, murphy, trammell, mcgriff and mattingly are voted so low on the list. alomar is probably being punished for the spitting incident, i wouldn't doubt he'll get there on the next couple ballots.
