1) Chat seemed to be the single highest cause of stress at wotmania and appears to have done more than anything else to end that site (both chat in itself and also the posts whining about it on the CMB, kind of like this one is)

2) Ben is flat out trying to get what is here already working correctly - if you want to get some idea of how much he has to do, go and look at the bugs reporting pagey thing. There is a lot there.
So even if there was the will to have a chat room, it wouldn't be likely to be created for a really long time.

Maybe let Ben get everything here working perfectly before demanding more? Not least as he is doing this for free (or in fact at a cost to himself, given he is relying on donations)

Except that I'd add, "if something was suggested months go, discussed and decided against, has been raised since with the same response, why not wait till Ben brings it up again himself to discuss it...?"

My only real concern is that there are people I almost never saw except in Chat, and I'd staple everyone here to their keyboards for the next six months (minimum) if I could. But sometimes I worry too much (you may have heard about that... ) and in that respect I'm kinda glad there's no official RAFO Chat for now. And until there is I was the last person to be "FIRST!" back in after the 3AM reboot.
