Even when there was only 5 or 6 people actually logged in, it still showed around "10,000" Active Users. He also claimed to show the number people to have loaded a page in the last 20 mins.
I show the number of "Active" users, which is the people who have loaded a page in the last 10 mins. Without any artifical inflation of the figures.
So that means, if you're reading a long article, link to another website, or generally take longer than 10 mins to click another link *even if you've got wotmania up and in front of you* it'll remove you from the active users.
I don't like lying to people, plain and simple.

wotmanias Active User List never made sense to me. It just made less sense sometimes than others. To be fair, IIRC the way he put it was something like, "It's possible some of those listed here may no longer be active, since they remain in the list for up to 20 minutes. " Like I said, it never made sense to me, and I think it remained badly broken for some time even after it stopped showing 50k+ on a regular basis. But in the days of "Oh noes, 666 Active Users!1!1!" threads I attributed it to persistence in memory even after people had been gone 15 minutes or more.
