1) Chat seemed to be the single highest cause of stress at wotmania and appears to have done more than anything else to end that site (both chat in itself and also the posts whining about it on the CMB, kind of like this one is)
2) Ben is flat out trying to get what is here already working correctly - if you want to get some idea of how much he has to do, go and look at the bugs reporting pagey thing. There is a lot there.
So even if there was the will to have a chat room, it wouldn't be likely to be created for a really long time.
Maybe let Ben get everything here working perfectly before demanding more? Not least as he is doing this for free (or in fact at a cost to himself, given he is relying on donations)
