So, after about 1 year it finally happened.
I would exaggerate if I said after blood, toil, tears and sweat. A bit exaggerated on the blood part at least. But it was a year full of many frustrating moments and weeks and consumption of lots of chocolate, not to mention manuscript revision after revision after revision......since co-authors from different disciplines are hard to satisfy at the same time. And not to mention, all other things I had to do (PhD courses, conferences and meetings, other projects and students to guide and teach) during the year. It’s been a fun but busy year. Oh, did I forget to tell you about what happened in the beginning of autumn, when I finally thought my manuscript was ready and almost finished with all revisions? One of my fellow PhD-students, working in the same group as me and writing on his own manuscript (my results are based on his results since our two manuscripts are two parts of one project), told me that all the data I got from him are wrong. He had updated and re-analysed his results without saying anything to me or giving me the updated results. Needless to say, I had to start from the beginning again. Fun, fun, fun..... I ate lots of chocolate back then.
If you haven’t guessed by now, I'm talking about me writing my very first scientific manuscript. And I finally submitted it to a journal yesterday!!
I would have celebrated with a glass of wine, but since I was out of wine I celebrated by going to bed early and trying to catch up with my sleep that has been down-prioritized for far too long.
I'm feeling relieved and happy at the moment. And I’m hoping that the wait won't be too long before I hear anything from the editor. Too short time would not be good either since that probably would mean a rejection.
So, have an as wonderful and happy day as I'm having!
