I have too, but my plane phobia is really different from anything mentioned here. The actual flying part is fine and even rather fun at times. What I hate is being crammed in with that many strangers for hours at a time, lacking air and space and room to go hide. I also have a deathly fear of people vomiting, so yeah... on a plane, every cough makes my heart skip a few beats. The only time I actually cried though was on my way back from Europe last year, when I had a UTI/kidney infection and it HURT A LOT. Getting comfortable in plane seats is impossible. Getting comfortable in plane seats when your lower back and sides are causing you to writhe in pain anyway is beyond impossible.

Re: BG and Ghavrel: it's hard to properly comfort people with flying phobias when your own experience of that is limited to pre-flight butterflies, but I do tend to remind myself that the number of people who get hurt or killed on plane crashes is way, way, way smaller than the comparable number for auto accidents, and we blithely get into those every day. I know tons and tons of people who have been in car crashes, but no one who's had serious trouble on a plane. And they do take so much care to prevent it. Close your eyes, it will be over soon. *nods*
