The NFL MVP award is going to be very difficult this year

I thought Drew Brees had gained an unbeatable advantage going into this week, but now I am not so sure anymore after watching Peyton Manning last night.
Manning has now engineered an NFL record 7 game-winning drives this season. The Colts would be roadkill without Manning, especially because they do not have a good running game. Manning was the league leader in total yards thrown going into this week.
Brees, on the otherhand, has been marvelous. He was leading Manning in total touchdowns by 3 going into this week. His passer rating and completion percentages also lead the league. Brees, unlike Manning, has a full complement of excellent running backs.
There are other great players this year to consider such as Chris Johnson, Brett Favre, and Philip Rivers. However, these players are all going to be drowned out by the buzz of a perfect season possibility from Bree's and Manning.
My personal opinion is that the perfect season is an absolute necessity for the MVP award. If either the Colts or Saints lose another game, then the Manning or Brees would probably kiss the MVP award goodbye.
In both the Colts and Saints both obtain a perfect season, then I think that Brees and Manning should probably share the MVP award. However, I would imagine that Brees would be the sentimental favorite given how down-trodden both New Orleans and the New Orleans Saints have been in the past few years.
I therefore predict that Brees would get the NFL MVP award if both the Saints and Colts have a perfect regular season. Manning would deserve the award as well, but he has already had it 3 times-- and voters often turn on what becomes too familiar.
