Do you hold a grudge?
On very rare occasions, yes.
If yes, do you give it up after a few years, or do you CONTINUE to hold a grudge (assume this is a person you still have to see for whatever reason)
There's one I still hold. Anything else pretty much fades over time.
Aside from the obvious "its easier to let it go" (cuz sometimes it's just not - for whatever reason) Why do you eventually let a grudge go?
Primarily because I stop caring enough to maintain "grudge"-level emotions about it.
That said, I do have a humourous entry to add. Probably twenty years or so ago, my sister and I wanted to get a free small ice-cream cone at McDonald's, and our dad wouldn't let us for some reason or other. He informed us that we wouldn't even remember it in a week. We decided then and there (8 and 5 years old) that we would never forget or forgive - and we never have.
I am made of poison.

I typically don't care enough about people I dislike to hold grudges against them.

Yeah, passive-aggressive types hate it when you call them out on it. It's like a hobby for me.
