A bit of research shows the animation's a little off; my parish's unemployment actually is a little under 7%. But Baton Rouge (and a fair amount of Louisiana) managed to avoid a lot of the recession.


Otherwise it'd be rather interesting.

And it seems the entire middle of the US avoided a lot of the recession, based on that map... of course, the middle is thinly populated, and so I suppose in a way it makes sense that they'd be relatively less hard-hit than densely populated areas.
