I am leaning towards yes, and I am allergic.
Kitten will be the end of me.


My husband and I are both quite allergic to cats, and we have a whole bunch of them. We've basically built up a tolerance to our own kitties so they don't really trigger our allergies anymore.

Put us around other cats and we'll both be snuffling, sneezing, wheezing and coughing within minutes.

With each new kitty, we'd have a couple weeks of snuffling until we got used to the newcomer, but it wasn't so bad.

That's just our personal experience. Would also depend on how allergic you are.


This is what I have heard, and why I am considering going for it. I was just a bit worried it might be a myth and I would die of anaphylaxis because I wouldn't be able to stay away from it.

Does this tolerance hold if you go away from it often? I mean, two weeks, a month away -- do you then start sneezing when you get home again?
