Not a huge step...but a small step. That's just based on the processor, ram, and hard drive. Most netbooks have the Atom chip, 1-2 gigs of ram, and 120gig hard drive. This will at least run fairly nicely, but for the rest...yeah the keyboard will be cramped and it won't be very fun for multimedia stuff like watching movies.
Edit: Unless that chip is the Atom chip?? I can never keep up with Intels names vs numbers.

Well, keep in mind that you're talking about a netbook. The screen is only 11.6 inches.
