I am asking a personal favor. I asked the same thing a while back and found that several were interested, so I'm throwing it out there again.
Main points:
-Brother is having a pretty awful year for a combination of reasons.
-We have decided to swoop down on him for Christmas, because it is a BIG holiday for our family: cookies, big meal, church, presents, all the festivities and decorations.
-Mom moved to Florida last year, so we don't have the same feel we would have, and brother is pretty well convinced that the "combination of reasons" will keep him from enjoying this Christmas (even though he is very happy to have us all invade him).
THE point:
-brother used to love my mother's Christmas tree, which was an awful hodgepodge of ornaments from all the years we'd lived in her home. Yes, there were cones with glittered macaroni noodles and class pictures, and there were various concoctions of popsicle sticks with fuzzy balls and pipe-cleaner antlers. You get the picture. There were also special ornaments like the glass spider web(? who knows).
-he has almost no ornaments, and certainly not any that are really important to him, but he will be setting up the tree this year.
I'm asking if any of you would be willing to send me any ornaments from wherever you are, and possibly of whatever you're involved in at the moment. I'm not asking for anything expensive, so it's a minor cost, but I can pay or send you something fun in return. Anybody willing? I like the idea of international ornaments, but of course I'd love anything thoughtful from anyone who wants to contribute. I love the idea of handing him a big ol' box of ornaments that make no sense.

"Ornaments for My Brother" was Terry Gilliam's all gay cast remake of "Flags of Our Fathers". *NM*
