That is fair. You just need to plan ahead and save up.

Sick pay and other things could have replaced maternity leave.
It wasn't a question about maternity leave really, it was about the employers responsibility to the employee in terms of welfare.


But if employee welfare is addressed, what about the other employees? The ones who have to pick up the slack?
