You should meet my boss. - Edit 1

People investing their life? Well, look at all those people who have busted their ass doing actual work (instead of pushing paper around and sitting sipping from snifters of bourbon with their other fat cat suit wearing buddies who don't actually do anything real, making decisions that effect other peoples lives negatively).
It was the workers in the plants that built GM, Ford and other such companies. The suits don't do shit. They live well at the expense of the people who made their business successful.
And unless you are one of those suit wearing bastards, you are a victim of capitalism.

People like that exist, but it's certainly not all, and probably not even many.
And if one "suit" didn't start the business, his workers would be in someone else's factory. Not out making all the money they could, or even often trying to start up their own businesses. I don't want to be rude, but I don't think you understand people very well, and you're being very demeaning to the people who put themselves out there.
I'm not saying there are no other options than Capitalism, but our version of it is not an inherently evil system. If we want to be free to buy every variety of awful thing, from cheetos to pink erasers, we want to be capitalistic.
