Chargers should be interesting. After they came back from a rout against the Steelers (even if they didn't win), I'll consider no amount of lead safe.
This win does make things a little rosier, but we could still be a game or two back of San Diego in a month. It's easiest to post the schedules:
Oct 11 NE @ DEN
Oct 19 DEN @ SD
Bye
Nov 01 DEN @ BAL
Nov 09 PIT @ DEN
Nov 15 DEN @ WAS
Nov 22 SD @ DEN
Nov 26 NYG @ DEN
Dec 06 DEN @ KC
Dec 13 DEN @ IND
Dec 20 OAK @ DEN
Dec 27 DEN @ PHI
Jan 03 KC @ DEN
If we get the Pats who almost lost to Buffalo it'll be easy, but the ones who beat the Ravens seem more likely. Won't be easy, even at Mile High; don't think we can count on Champ to run a pick the length of the field again. I'd love to see us win in San Diego, but I'm not holding my breath. Then the bye and go to Baltimore; at this stage I wouldn't be surprised if defensive scores won the game, but that favors them. If Pitt plays 60 minutes they could take us at Mile High, too.
We could be 4-4 by the time we face Washington, though that looks like a rout right now. If we can beat San Diego in Denver we're back in it, but hosting the Giants could be a crucial test. The Chiefs look pretty awful, but the Arrowhead game is never easy for some reason. Hope for 6-6 by hook or by crook, 7-5 with a lot of luck.
I don't like our chances at Indy right now, but we should plow the Raiders again, the Eagles could go either way and KC has as much trouble in Denver as we do there. If we can beat the Eagles on the road 9-7, which seems to be where we hover these days. Shanny and Cutler get us a wildcard (I'm just sayin' is all.... )
Bolts have:
Bye
Oct 19 DEN @ SD
Oct 25 SD @ KC
Nov 01 OAK @ SD
Nov 08 SD @ NYG
Nov 15 PHI @ SD
Nov 22 SD @ DEN
Nov 29 KC @ SD
Dec 06 SD @ CLE
Dec 13 SD @ DAL
Dec 20 CIN @ SD
Dec 25 SD @ TEN
Jan 03 WAS @ SD
That's a pretty friendly schedule; they've played most of their toughest foes and we've played most of our weakest, so don't go by record yet. Until they visit the Giants on the 8th of next month their toughest opponent is US; they're 2-2 now, but could well be 5-3 after the Giants, maybe even 6-2 (though I'd bet against. ) By then we might've dropped 3 games and still be a game back even if we win at home against Pitt the next day.
Philly's at least as beatable in San Diego as they are for us at Philly, but they MIGHT lose that game, and if we beat them the following week it's pretty much even money, their 5-5 against our 5-5 or 6-4. Unfortunately they then have KC and Cleveland (two more wins) before an always spotty Dallas club; hopefully Dallas is desperate enough to show up by then and the Bolts are 7-6 or 8-5. Best case scenario we're tied; worst we're two games back of them. Unfortunately all they'll have left is home games against Cincinatti and Washington, plus a road trip to a Tennessee team that looks like it's in a tailspin. The worst reasonable finish for them is 9-7, 10-6 is more probable, and 11-5 a real possibility. That's even if we beat them in Denver; obviously if we sweep the division we can win, but as unlikely as that sounds it seems like our best chance now.
Good news is I've now seen TWO plays from yesterdays game: Champs pick on Romo just outside the endzone (now why would a second stringer like Romo try to throw at Champ? ) and Marshalls come back grab over Anthony Henrys head (might be picked if anyone but Marshall is there. ) It did sound good to hear Aikman say Marshall worked harder in practice last week than anyone he's seen since Michael Irvin, but if he's unhappy about his contract, well, it's about done.

It was basically the slogan of the Cowboys when they got good again under Jimmy Johnsons coaching.

I usually get around to it at some point; you just have to dig through the tangents.

Dallas was above .500 coming in, now 2-2 (.500 exactly). Bengals are 3-1 (.750). Both Denver wins.
