My recommendation - just drive a car. Anonymous2000 Send a noteboard - 29/04/2017 05:17:23 PM

It will be a lot quicker with much less strain on your knees and hips!

View original postTomorrow morning I run my first half-marathon race, the St. Jude Rock'n'Roll Half Marathon, in Nashville. After weeks of rain and temps only in the 70s, the air temp will be around 90° (or 32°C) by the time the majority of marathoners finish their race. With the heat/humidity comes a heat advisory; it will be brutal, even after running in the mid-afternoons over the past month. Fool me signed up to run the full marathon next year, despite knowing that this could very well happen again next year.

View original postBut while thinking about this and trying to become sleepy enough to crash before 9 PM (I have to wake up at 4 AM to make it in time), I was wondering who else here has run, whether competitively or just for solo jogs, distances longer than 10K/6.21 miles.

View original postIf you have (or have run 5Ks or milers), what races have you run and what did you do for training? Any personal records to share?

View original postI'll check back later this weekend, provided I don't collapse on the course!
